Ok. I've been straying from the original purpose of my blog for the past little while. So now back to science.
Missing links are yet another, possibly one of the best, proofs of the theory of evolution. Have you ever herd of any animals or fossilized discoveries that don't make any sense. Chances are that if you did you didn't listen to the whole story because generaly those animals that have little things like stubby useless arms or a disapearing tail are generaly understood to be missing links. One of the generations between one species evolving into another.
Examples! Examples! Their always necessary if you're going to prove a point in just about anything. In the age of the dinosaurs (triassic, jurassic, cretaceous periods) there was a group of animals that scientists have named "Mammel like Reptiles". These little guys were simply reptiles with mammel like characteristics examples being warm blooded amoung other things. This was before and during the evolution of real mammels so these are the unknown "animal in between"! These mammel like reptiles are actualy closely linked to the genetic history of all mammels. Yes. You evolved from an ape which evolved from some form of four legged mammel which in it's turn evolved from another smaller mammel which evolved from a mammel like reptile which evolved from an actual reptile which in its own turn evolved from, believe it or not, an amphibien and... need I go on?
My point being, go back far enough and the genetic tree shrinks and shrinks and everything it is closer and closer related. Archaeopteryx is a brilliant example that most of you none nerds can probably comprehend. It is a commun assumption that birds evolved from dinosaurs (i'm not saying i'm against this assumption i'm saying it's just an assumption) more specificly, the raptor family. This is one of the reasons why birds of pray are called "raptors". Anyway, archaeopteryx is a reptile, clearly distinguished as one, HOWEVER, it has feathers. Scientists believe that the arms, not wings, of archaeopteryx were not strong enough to fly but instead strong enough to glide from tree to tree like a reptilian flying squirel. This is almost exactly at the halfway point between dinosaur/raptor and bird. If I need further proof please tell me.
Face it. We evolved from those poo flinging monkeys you see in jungle films. Well not actualy. We evolved from a specific string of apes called the Homo family. So content yourself with the knoledge that we weren't as stupid as those howler monkeys that fling poo at tourists. Remember, APES not monkeys!

heh heh, you said poo. Anyways, most "examples" of stuff that "disproves" evolution can be quickly explained. Take that giraffe example creationists always are throwing about. I can disprove that very easily given the need.
Yep, yay for natural selection! Some exceptional giraffes that had slightly longer necks, and could reach higher branches were mated with to create babies with the same trait. The trait became more promenant until the short necked giraffes died out, and the long necked giraffes we know today came to be.
In the simplified explenation, yes. There are a lot of smaller details that you left out such as the fact that you need to have a neck in the first place. There are missing links connecting just about every related species on earth.
