Human History "The violent truth"

Throughout history humans have done a pretty bang up job of destroying the world and each other. Human history isn't the peaceful evolution revolving cycle it used to be before humans came along. If other creatures had newspapers they would be reporting development among animals, food sources moving or disapering, a little predator prey stuff but that's all natural. Humans have changed all that. Now it's all about where the most recent natural or human disaster happend, how many died. Humans have punctuated the last millenias history with battles and violence and they aren't even against another species. In the wild there are some fights between animals of the same species. Usualy over territory or mates. Humans fight each other for stupid "Political" reasons. Trying to grab land from an enemy. The destruction of entire civilizations and peoples for simple useless items such as gold. Let me ask you. How does gold contribute to society? Gold isn't used for electrical purposes. Gold isn't used to craft tools. No, gold is the advertising of welth. Since gold is rare it is valuable. Because it's valuable only the rich have it in large quantitys. Since only the rich have it, it is more or less required to have large quantitys of a rare useless metal in order to be considered wealthy.

I've shifted topics now. I am currently talking about human greed. Humans have Imagination. One of the FEW things that seperate us frome animals. We can imagine in to the future for something that has not happend yet. It is what ultimately led us to be the dominant species on earth. Imagination is also what in some ways is killing the balance of nature that has existed on earth for millenia. The natural order of things used to be that, a herbivor/prey exists in large numbers. A predator that feeds off of that herbivore keeps the population in check however that predator cannot become to big other wise some of it's species will die of starvation because there are to many of it's kind to feed them all. So some of the predators die and the herbivores thrive because there are fewer predators and then the predators thrive and so on and so forth. Humans, believe it or not, used to be a part of that cycle until, it is guessed, that humans discovered fire. The human imagination gave them fire. Using imagination and fire humans were able to extract them selves from the food chain and place themselves on top. Fire gave them defence and especialy at night, their imaginations started to wander and discover new things such as stone tools. These new advancements gave them defence against even the worst of predators and allowed them to hunt just about all types of food. Normaly that would be fine and when the prey population whent down so would the human population. But. Yes whenever I say this kind of thing there is always a but. But humans thanks to their imagination found another solution instead of die along with their prey. The chose to migrate and expand. Fast forward a few centuries and you have humans all around the world hunting and destroying whole species. To be honest the aboriginal peoples did quite a good job of becoming in tuned with nature. It was mainly when humans hit the age of industrys and people started exploring more did the environment realy start to suffer. It was when the humans population started to decline because of food shortage did people need mass quantitys of food because thanks to our imagination we didn't want others of our species to die so we killed other species instead. Now i'm speaking from an out of world perspective. As a human being I'm glad that humans think it important to USUALY leave no one behind. Any way humans just kept growing and since they had no predators no other species was keeping them in check and since their imaginations gave them ways to adapt to the shortage of food, mainly moving and destroying another area, they weren't being kept in check by their own prey so there was nothing to stop them from expanding and expanding and expanding. And now we have all of these over population and food shortage problems because of it.

As those of you who are regular readers of this blog (what maybe 3 or 4 people), you should know that I usualy overeact when it comes to these subjects and that I tend to tell the worst of the bad side of things. That is true here. The unfortunate side is I was using cold hard logic. This is true as far as we know. Humans are in general a destructive species. Lets try to limit the damage to the world. ... ... uh ... ... That sounded like a realy long "protect the planet ad" Sorry.
